Ringing in the New Year ~2025~ Woo!

Happy New Year Friends!

I hope everyone had a great start to the New Year. I know I sure did! I spent New Year’s Eve at my best friend’s apartment where she was hosting a small party of seven of us. When I got there we plopped down on the couch to swap Christmas/Hanukkah/Birthday gifts and it struck us both that the last time I had been sitting on her couch was almost a full year ago, after we got home from her bachelorette party! What was almost a full 12 months felt like it had only been a few weeks. It was the same when everyone else showed up for the party.

There’s something really magical about the friends (new & old) I have in Florida where I can not see them for months or years at a time but when we get back together it’s as if almost no time has passed at all. I’m 30 years old now and I have to find or make friends like that anywhere else. Living in Chicago now I can confidently say that my boyfriend is my only friend in the city. I don’t know if it’s that the quality of people in Chicago is different or if it’s that the bar has been set so high by my Florida friends that I simply can’t make good friends in Chicago. But honestly, that’s a tangent for another day lol!

Before I knew it it was almost midnight! We rushed to get champagne and grapes for everyone and counted down to the final Happy New Year!! And we toasted to the New Year, made wishes on out grapes, ate chocolate and headed outside to set of sparklers

And as the night drew close we all said our goodbyes and headed our separate ways I had this really great feeling the new year will bring many new surprises and I’m excited about it!

(p.s. I’m uploading this later than I was expecting, seeing as today is Jan 25 and we’re almost into February. I’ve already had a pretty big – and that’s down playing it – life change event take place so I guess that will be next update. Anyway, Happy New Year!)
